My recent obsession with flats

I have a confession to make....

I never liked flats. Period. I was always the girl who always had on a pair of sandals/espadrilles/flipflops.
I didn't understand why people preferred to coop up their toes.
Plus, my toes were ALWAYS pedicured, so I wanted to show them off hehe.
However, internship rolled about, and I had to make the difficult decision of either wearing flats or heels to work.
I have to walk a LOT on my journey to work (school, I'm in the Corp Comms Dept).
I change 3 trains on each journey, North-east > Circle > East-West Lines.
Therefore = walking a LOT.

I decided on flats. Initially, I only ever had one pair of flats at a time that I bought purely for driving lessons.
They were black and sparkly and have since died a sad death, and therefore not featured here :(
I loved them, they were from D&C and cost less than 20SGD.
Sadly, they don't last. I've bought two pairs of sparkly flats from them and both died :/
The first pair had a sad farewell with the sole when they parted (this is a common issue for flats).
The second pair, idk what the hell happened but there was a freaking hole at the bottom of the sole suddenly.
I could feel the pavement! ._.
So, goodbye. D&C has also stopped retailing the flats. Maybe they realised how fragile they were :/
These are the second pair of flats I bought from D&C.
These nude patent flats cost around 30SGD.
I bought them cos my wedges broke :(
And I needed footwear desperately.
They're not bad, but breaking them in was painful.
The back of my right foot swelled for awhile, and I stopped wearing them for a few weeks.
However, I've worn them quite recently and suddenly all's good!
They're comfy (if you exclude the foot-swelling part) and easy to match!

ASOS Lulu Ballet Flats (Black)
I LOVE ASOS FLATS.
I needed to get that out. HAHA.
They're extremely affordable (prices range 12 - 20SGD) and they're versatile!
I have 3 pairs of the Lulu Ballet flats alone *attempts to be embarrassed, but heck, they're cheap!*
For people who don't know what shoe size to buy (because the size guide on ASOS is JUST TOO DAMN CONFUSING)
I'm a Charles & Keith 36, New look size 3 (UK) and a Converse size 4 (US) (I think).
I wear size 3 on ASOS comfortably. So follow the Charles & Keith sizing!
I bought my flats in size 4 initially. Because I was unsure about what size to get and I thought that a larger size was better than a smaller size!
Cos I can put heel grips in a larger size but there's nothing I can do about a smaller size!
I can wear a ASOS Size 4 but it's loose.
Hope this helps!

ASOS Lulu Ballet Flats (Nude)

ASOS patent purple flats (can't remember the name)

I bought this pair of flats cos they were so pretty! The purple is a great way to add colour to one's outfit.
And surprisingly, the leopard prints on the sole add comfort to the flats! There's this suede feeling to the flats.
Extremely comfy! ^^

Basic black ballet flats (17.90 SGD)
I used to own a pair of H&M black ballet flats (that look like these but a skinnier ribbon) that have since gone missing in my own home.
I suspect my mom threw them away LOL.
Anyway. I always bought a pair of black ballet flats (for driving) and my H&M ones kept getting caught in the rain (it was monsoon season in Singapore at the time)
I feared the early demise of that pair of flats (and I was right, it went missing) so when I was at Causeway Point for lunch with a friend, I bought this pair.
The sole is quite inflexible, which I don't really like, but I was kinda sorta desperate.
So I bought them anyway.
They've since been relegated to the trunk of my dad's car so that I have a pair of flats in the car for driving :)

(Too dirty to show you the insides lol so just the front!)
Bought this pair of Juicy Couture flats at a flea market for 10SGD.
I have no idea if it was authentic but the girls who sold them swore to me it was.
Heck, they're pretty. And it's only 10 dollars!
I like these cos they add a certain spunkyness to my outfit.
However, they're the flats that scrunch up. I dislike those, they make my feet hurt at the end of the day :(

For a girl who never liked wearing flats, I suddenly own so many.
Thank you, internship (I'm not really being sarcastic).
Now, I tend to wear my flats for everything :)
They really are easy to match with everything in my closet :D
