#procrastinator
hahaha. in actuality, I'm not too hyped about turning 21, cos the only thing I can look forward to being 21 is... paying my bills. I can already drive, can already drink, there's honestly nothing much.
but... any good reason for a party, amirite? HAHA.
Applied for half day leave on the actual day, the 23rd, cos I wanted to take leave on the 25th so that I can have a long weekend, and either way there was no celebration on the day itself anyway. The sad part about growing up is that we're all grown up, and ensuring that our schedules don't clash is an ongoing battle.
Erin gave me customised cupcakes:
Thanks Erin!
I got a Tiffany & Co necklace from my aunt:
My cousins came bearing the little blue box :)
Brandon couldn't attend my party cos of uni freshman camp, but we managed to meet up beforehand! Thanks for the dinner treat and the present:
The food wasn't up to standard, but the company more than made up for it :)
Gorgeous accessories from my go-to brand hehe.
Weihong also couldn't attend cos she was going to be overseas, so I had another dinner treat from her (fatdieme) from SUSHI TEI, SALMON MENTAIYAKI 4 LIFE:
Dragon Roll, yum:
And I got a really pretty cosmetic case! Thanks so much way <3
Awesome colleague Vernice gave me a lunch treat hehe. Both Esther and her are HILARIOUS lunch buddies hehehe COME OFFICE MORE OFTEN LEH:
Ramen from Tamp Mall! Quite good! Thanks Vernice for contributing to the feed Kayleen fund (fKf) HAHA
Nail stickers and laneige water lip tint from Esther, which is awesome ^^
The birthday DAY dawned, and even tho there was no celebration, I felt that I should dress up a little. I tried.
No eyes, but equally smiley anyways
Went to AMK to pick my mom up so that we could go check into Changi Treehouse Villas together, it was hilarious. We were super slow, so by the time we reached home, it was 5pm and according to the checkin paper, checkin closes at 5:30pm. And we hadn't packed a single thing. So we rushed, and the entire time I asked my younger bro (Thanks Daryl!!!) to call the number listed below to ask for an extension on the checkin time.
But we were unable to get through constantly, so by the time we left home at 5:20ish, I was snappish and panicking (cos what if I can't check in?) and my mom was frantically trying to call as well. But my mom is a tech-noob and couldn't remember how to use an iPhone again (she just switched to Android) and I was driving so I couldn't make the call. Entered TPE at 5:30 (see this is so memorable, a month later I still remember it) and told mom to just cross our fingers and hope for the best.
And driving down at 5:30pm was an experience in itself, I hardly drive in the day, 95% at night, so I'm quite a sucky day driver. But I'm happy to say I managed!! YAY! But there are SO MANY TRUCKS in Changi at that hour, I couldn't see past the first truck the entire time, and was semi-panicking cos the route there is super easy, but I couldn't see any landmarks at all. So I turned on the GPS hahaha #loserisme #loserbetterthangettinglost
Also couldn't park properly cos I couldn't understand how the parking lot worked. YES IT'S SIMPLE after I saw it then I got it haha I kept parking in the middle of both lots cos I thought the barrier thing at the back was at the ENDS of the lot, and not the MIDDLE of the lot. #lesson learned.
Got to the villa and managed to check in, thank goodness. Then lugged all our baggage to the villa, and then CHILLED OUT FINALLY WHOOP. haha.
I started decorating the place, and my mom kept complaining why I ask her to help cut when she has long-sightedness hahaha damn funny. But thank you mommy for helping <3
Thanks Arielle for the artwork as well, I can't design to save my life anymore but you can :)
Here's a pic of the backdrop and the dessert table! My pride and joy of the night lolol.
Chocolate cupcakes with ganache
Mom <3
My theme of the night was blue or polka dots, here's how the invite looked:
The decor of the villa:
The villa is Balinese themed, with R&R in mind. The place is fully air-conditioned and gorgeous, I wouldn't mind booking it for a staycation to relax and chill in the future. It isn't easy to book though, but quite cheap :)
The guardians of my dessert table, telling my guests that my desserts were for display only, cos they were too pretty to be eaten haha.
Blue Velvet cupcakes to suit my theme hehehe
Macarons from TWG! My fave macaron ever and I decided to share this with my guests :)
Chocolate cupcakes with ganache! dk what ganache is but its super YUM in my TUM
Credits to the dessert table goes to Harishini @ Harabakes! Check her out, the desserts were totally the star of the night. (Please excuse my ugly but still nice DIY chocolate covered cornflakes haha)
