Nail fun

It's the year of the horsey! Hehe. We had a lion dance in the office and the horsey came with it! lol.

So I really haven't been updating much, I've pretty much given up on regular blogging haha.
Followed the examples of the popular bloggers and joined Dayre. You can follow me on my Dayre at dayre.me/bitesizedkay ! I'm not saying I'll post there more often, but it definitely will (should) beat this 4 times a year blog post haha.

CNY has come and past, I had a fun CNY this year. Unfortunately, it was marred by a 60% submission on 4th Feb, so I wasn't able to do much visiting this year :( All's well though, submitted my project with a sigh of relief :)

I'm almost through to the end of my degree, time really flies. Still wishing I could have had the chance to live overseas though, so my dream is to either work/study overseas. Here's hoping this dream will be realized xx

Anyway, I did my nails (again). I'm starting to run out of inspiration to do them, my nails are so darn tiny, there are nicer patterns out there but I can't use my own nails as the canvas to do them cos there simply just isn't any space. (at this point, I'm pretty sure a few of my friends are going ME, ASK ME) hahahaha.

Just wanted to share some of my more successful and favourite designs hehe. You can see the whole album full of pictures at Facebook here

Here are my most recent nails (they're currently adorning my fingers :D)

Polishes used: OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips and FACESHOP's black polish.
I did them with striping tape, you can get them online!
I googled before using them, wasn't sure if I should stick them BEFORE or AFTER my nails have dried.
Personally, I waited about 5 minutes before starting to use them.
These are my current favourites, but they took me about 2 hours to do them (or the length of two Elementary episodes HAHA)

NAIL ADVICE: When you're gonna use a stencil (i.e any kinds of tape), make sure the tape isn't very sticky. I read one blog where she stuck the tape on her skin multiple times, to reduce the amount of stickiness before using it.

These were my Christmas 2013 nails! ^^

Polishes used: innisfree (pictured) and OPI (silver glitter)
This was pretty simple to do, using a sponge to create the sprinkled on glitter effect.

NAIL ADVICE: Use a q-tip to remove the mess you made when applying polish. It's much cleaner and more efficient than using a cotton pad. If you want to avoid this step completely, you can apply vaseline around the areas of your nails, and the polish simply will not adhere to your skin! :D I usually use the q-tip though, it's easier and cleaner to do so :)
Isn't this pretty in a subtle way?

Polishes used: OPI Polka + FACESHOP's Black
I like these nails because they are super easy to do - but they are really hard to remove too.
If anyone knows a fuss-free way to remove glitter, PLEASE let me know! Haha.
I know if I soak my nails in acetone or use the way you remove gellish nails to remove it but it's no good for your nails! But at the same time picking the glitter off my nails also isn't very healthy haha.

I wrote the bulk of this post long ago but I didn't finish it. I've changed my stripey nails already haha but the current ones aren't too pretty so I'm not posting them here.

Till next time! (Or like 3 months from now LOL)
