Salmon Mentaiyaki! All time fave Japanese food :)

There's a Nihon Mura opposite my office that helps satiate my Japanese food loving hehe.
Justina introduced me to Aburi Salmon and I have to say I'm loving it. (Sorry Macs, I borrowed your slogan haha) Pictured here is Salmon Skin Floss Maki, one of the most sinful sushi ever (but I eat it anyway lol)

Celebrated mom & dad's 24 years of happy marriage with happy food! yum yum.
This was at Kovan. We had salted egg sauce crabs, prawn paste chicken, cereal prawns and sambal kang kong.

We celebrated Vincent's 21st at Poulet, here's my photo of my chicken, which people say look like half a spring chicken instead of french roast chicken >:(
It's on level 4 at Bugis+, and this was my second visit there.
The food was good, but the service.. leaves me hanging.
The one thing that restaurants can do is to provide water, in my opinion. I usually prefer getting a glass of iced water to accompany my meal, instead of ordering something sweet because I don't want the drink to overpower the taste of whatever I'm eating.
And most restaurants do serve iced water. But the one thing I don't understand about Poulet (and perhaps it's just me, perhaps all French restaurants operate this way, I don't know), but they only serve hot water in glasses. They refuse to serve iced water in glasses, either you can purchase a bottled iced water at $1.80 (which is a total rip off for water) or hot water.
And the water is not even EVIAN or Fiji bottled water, it's Dasani. Which costs like 60c in the supermart. What I fail to understand is that if you can provide hot water, why can't you provide tap water? Poulet also provides you cups of ice. So you can ask for water, then ask for ice, and do-it-yourself iced water.
Lol. But other than the water fiasco, the food was fine.
My fave food in poulet has to be the truffle mashed potato. It's a little pricey at 6.80 (I think, can't remember), but the truffle mash (heck, even the regular mash is pretty good) is worth a try.
The chicken on that day wasn't really good, as the cream sauce was just a bit too thick that day, and made eating the chicken a little gelat after awhile. But interspersed with the mashed potato made the food alright.
Now I'm hungry haha. Hope the food photos stirred your appetite too! Hehe.
Till next time ;)
