I've been in LA for 4 days, it's been pretty awesome. The weather is terrific even tho it's raining, which I hear is extremely rare for LA.
My dad was saying that since I always bitch about SG, I'll only fully appreciate SG once I leave it for awhile. And you know what? I never hated SG but I truly appreciate it a little more now.
Take the transit in Japan for example. It was a super long wait waiting for my layover flight cos 1) somehow boarding time was delayed, and 2) the free wifi which was supposed to cover the entire airport somehow only covered the area in front of McDonalds there lol. So I was stuck there. And the Macs have no proper seating area! :(
I would like to state now for the record that I love SG's public transport. I would like to grab the people who kp about our public transport system and put them on a bus in LA. Granted, the only bus I took was a shuttle bus from the outlet malls to downtown LA, but it smells funny and the buses take time to go places not because it's far, but they spend time waiting for people at the bus stops. Pros and cons here.
And the roads! I know LA as a state is bankrupt (idk why tho their sales tax is a bitch) but the roads are crumbly and when it was raining, like earlier today, you really really have to be careful while driving cos the lines on the road can't be seen at all!
Okay, now the highlights of my trip. I've finished ranting about LA hehe now the awesome part, which outweighs the cons by a mile LOL.
THE WEATHER IS DELIGHTFUL. its a little chilly for me at times cos I grew up in hot and humid Singapore but this weather is pure genius. Coming to California first was a good start I think, especially in winter.
Speaking of winter, I'm headed to NY in about 6 hours (and instead of sleeping I'm being awesome and doing this lol) and it's apparently like below zero now. I shoulda gotten more heat packs :/
